How to Force Eject a Disc on an iMac

The Apple iMac is a line of all-in-one computers that feature Intel Core processors, flash storage and a slot-loading optical drive. With the optical drive, you can eject disks by pressing the "Eject" button on the iMac keyboard. In the event that the disc does not eject, you also have a manual eject option.

      Stretch out a paper clip so that it has one straight edge.

      Place the edge of the paper clip into the manual eject hole at the corner of the slot-loading disc drive.

      Press the paper clip into the manual eject hole in order to press the manual eject button. Pull the disc out once the drive opens, and restart the iMac.
