How to Find Someone on AOL Chat

AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) allows you to connect with other AIM users around the world. There are two ways to find people on the Internet chat service. One way allows you to search your email address book to see if any friends or family use the service. Another way allows you use a search wizard to find people in your area or in an age range you wish to randomly chat with.

Instructions

Add Through Address Book

1. Choose "Options" from the main menu bar.

2. Select "Add to Buddy List" from the menu.

3. Click "Import Buddies."

4. Choose the email provider you wish to add buddies from. Log in with your user name and password. Click "Find." Those who use AIM will appear on your screen. Check their name and add to your buddy list.

Search for Buddies

1. Choose "Options" from the top menu bar.

2. Choose "Add to Buddy List" followed by "Search for Buddies."

3. Type the person's name or email address into the box and click "Find."

4. Click "Add" under the user name to add to your Buddy List.
