How to Clean a Beretta 92FS Magazine
The Beretta 92FS is a semi-automatic handgun that is chambered to fire the 9mm round of ammunition. Used extensively by military and law enforcement agencies in the United States and throughout the world, the 92FS is manufactured for use in the United States in production facilities located in Maryland and Italy. Cleaning the 92FS includes field stripping and cleaning the magazine to remove dirt and powder residue.

Hold the Beretta 92FS magazine upside down so the base plate is easily accessible. Locate the depressed base lock.

Insert the end of the Allen wrench into the base lock and push down. Push on the flat end of the magazine base until it is half off the magazine. Place a thumb on the base lock plate that is attached to the magazine spring to prevent the spring from forcefully ejecting from the magazine. Remove the magazine base completely.

Remove the base lock plate and spring carefully from the magazine to avoid potential injury.

Slide the magazine follower from the magazine and remove the base lock plate from the spring.

Scrub the inside of the magazine with a toothbrush. Use the toothbrush to brush also the spring, magazine follower, base lock plate and magazine base.

Assemble the follower back into the magazine and attach the base lock plate to the spring. Place the spring into the magazine, compress down and hold firmly in place. Slide the magazine base onto the bottom of the magazine until it locks securely in place.
