How to Put Facebook on Pidgin

Pidgin is a cross-platform, multi-protocol instant messaging application that is designed to manage chat accounts with various providers in one simple interface. Facebook Chat utilizes the open-source extensible messaging and presence protocol, or XMPP, making it a simple task to add your Facebook account to the Pidgin client. Once Facebook Chat is configured in Pidgin, you can message friends and family who are on Facebook directly from Pidgin without having to open the Facebook website.
