Two-sided business cards allow you to add more information.

Although one-sided business cards are standard, two-sided business cards are a useful advertising tool because you can add much more information to the back of your business card, such as directions, a map or a list of your products. Microsoft Publisher includes an application specifically for making business cards so that you don't have to depend on a third party printer to create your cards. Your cards will also be personalized to fit your own style.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Microsoft Publisher, and select the "Publications for Print" option in the New Publication window. Choose a design in the window on the right side of the screen.

    • 2

Select either the vertical portrait orientation or the horizontal landscape orientation for your business card. Enter the number of cards needed, and add your choice of color schemes and font schemes in the Publications Designs window.

    • 3

Select a color scheme from the available template styles. Click on the "Background" button and select a color for the back of the card.

    • 4

Click on "Insert" on the main menu and click on "Draw a Text Box." Type in the text that will appear on the front of your card. Click on "Picture" on the Insert menu to add graphics or clip art.

    • 5

Click "Insert" on the task bar and choose "Page" to switch to the back side of the card. Click "OK" in the dialogue window. Insert any text or images you need on the back of the card using the instructions in Step 2, and save the card.

    • 6

Load your printer with card stock or other appropriate business card paper. Use the template number on your box, if applicable.

    • 7

On the Print Menu under "File," click on the drop-down menu labeled "Print One-Sided." Select the "Manual 2-Sided Print" option. When the cards print on the first side, turn the paper over and feed the paper into the printer (see reference 2).

Tips & Warnings

  • Business cards are normally printed in sheets of ten.

  • Print a test sheet on a normal piece of paper before you print the actual cards to know how to feed the paper into your particular printer (see Reference 2).
