How to Tarnish a Large Tray
People frequently tarnish metal to create a desired look for artistic purposes. Tarnish is a common, naturally occurring chemical reaction. However, you can easily recreate the reaction. Tarnish occurs when silver reacts with sulfur in the air to create silver sulfide. You can create tarnish using a few household items.

Hard boil a dozen large eggs and remove their yolks after you have peeled them.

Mash the egg yolks and cover the tray with them.

Cover the tray and egg yolks with plastic wrap and let it sit overnight.

Remove the plastic wrap and wash the egg yolks off of the tray with water and dishwashing liquid.

Tips & Warnings
If the tray is not tarnished enough after the first night repeat the process with fresh eggs the next night. Repeat the process until the desired effect is reached.
