How to Make Christmas Ornament Hangers
Christmas tree ornament hangers have a way of disappearing in the chaos of seasonal decorating, making it hard to trim the tree with no way to hang the ornaments. If you need a last-minute replacement for missing hangers or you want something more decorative than the standard wire hooks, consider making your own ornament hangers instead. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Cut a piece of wire 3 or 4 inches long, depending on how large or decorative you want the hook to be. Use silver, copper or green-coated floral wire.
-
2
Use needle-nose pliers to bend one end of the wire into a small loop to hold the ornament.

3
Create a more decorative hook by stringing a bead or charm onto the wire after forming the ornament loop. Using the needle-nose pliers, form a small, tight twist in the wire about halfway up to prevent the bead or charm from sliding. Thread the bead onto the wire until it rests on top of the twist. Form another twist above the bead to secure it on the wire.

4
Bend the other end of the wire into a large hook shape to hang on the tree branch. For a unique look, use a small dowel or other cylindrical object to form the hook. Wrap the end of the wire around the dowel two or three times, and then remove the dowel. This will form a small spiral on the end of the wire. Bend the wire at the base of the spiral downward slightly to form the hook.
