How to Make a Mini-Marshmallow Sculpture

Mini marshmallows are connected to create sculptural forms.

Building a sculpture with marshmallows and toothpicks is an exploration in three dimensions. Balance and structural integrity are important in this activity. Things You'll Need

• Wax paper
• Toothpicks
• Marshmallows

Instructions

1. Open a bag of marshmallows and allow them to get stale for a few days.

2. Lay a piece of wax paper on the table as a work surface.

3. Build a base by sticking four toothpicks into four marshmallows to form a square.

4. Attach more marshmallows to the base with toothpicks to create a free-form sculpture. Continue to add more marshmallows until you are happy with your creation.

Tips & Warnings

• Marshmallows can also be connected with pretzel sticks to create sculptures.
