How do I Install IIS 6 on Vista?
Whether you are a website developer or just want a Web server for your local network, installing Windows Internet Information Services, or IIS, allows you to create a powerful hosting platform on a personal computer. With Windows IIS, you can publish Web pages and sites just as you would on the Internet. IIS provides you with a way to test sites or display Web content on the network without exposure to the Internet. Windows Vista does not install IIS by default; however, the Vista installation DVD does include IIS 6, which you can quickly add to Windows.
