How to Do Two French Braids on Yourself
The French braid is a classic braiding style that involves incorporating additional sections of hair into the braid as it weaves down or around your head. While the classic single French braid has not been in vogue in recent years, a new style in which two smaller French braids wrap around the head from the front to the back to frame the face has gained popularity recently among reality TV and teen-drama stars. When creating braids yourself, remember that practice makes perfect, and remain patient through the trial-and-error process. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Divide your hair into a center part. Use the pointed handle of the comb to get a clear part.
-
2
Grab a small section of hair at the top right of your center part, right next to your forehead. Comb to remove any tangles.
-
-
3
Divide the section of hair into three even sections. Wrap the right section over the middle section to the left. It then becomes the middle section. Then wrap the left section over the middle section so that it now becomes the middle section. Hold the three sections in your left hand.
-
4
Pull a medium-size section of hair from next to your forehead with your right hand and combine it with the right section of the braid you are holding in your left hand to incorporate it into the braid. Wrap that section over the middle section as before. Then hold all sections with your right hand.
-
5
On the left side, with your left hand, pull a smaller-size section of hair from the back of your head along the center part and incorporate that into the left section of your braid, wrapping it over the center section as before.
-
6
Continue this process, incorporating new sections of hair from the right and left sides into the braid as you braid down your head. Make sure to keep the side of the braid closest to your face very tight.
-
7
Once the braid reaches the base of your scull, secure it by wrapping it with a hair elastic.
-
8
Repeat the previous steps on the left side of your head, then remove the hair elastic from your first braid and secure the two braids where they meet at the base of your scull with the hair elastic. If you like, you can leave the rest of your hair in the elastic in a ponytail, or use it to create a messy bun.
