How to Delete an E-Trade Account
E-Trade is a well-known financial services company that offers a suite of online tools, such as investing, banking and trading solutions. There are a few simple ways for E-Trade account holders to close their online accounts, if they wish to do so.

Delete your account online. Go to the E-Trade website (us.etrade.com) and locate the "Account Closure Request" link. Follow a two-step process that includes making sure you want to delete your account. Resolve all pending transactions and verify closing your account.

Delete your account by phone. Contact customer service by calling them at 1-800-ETRADE-1. Tell the customer service representative that you would like to close your account. The customer service representative will give you detailed instructions on how to close your account. After your account is closed, get the confirmation number to keep for your personal records.

Visit your local branch to delete your account. Locate a local E-Trade office by visiting the website and click "Visit An E*Trade Branch." Choose a branch from the list of branch locations to get the address information. Visit your local branch during business hours to delete your E-Trade account.
