Ginger roots require proper storage to retain quality and flavor.

Ginger root adds an aromatic flavor to soups, sauces and cooked dishes. The knobby tan or brown peel of the root encases the white or yellow flesh. Use the flesh of the ginger sliced, shredded or cubed to add depth to the flavor of your favorite recipes. A large root provides enough ginger for several dishes, making it necessary to save the leftover parts of the root for future use. Ginger retains its flavor and texture well for a long period if packaged and stored correctly. Does this Spark an idea?
