Instructions

    • 1

Remove the protective cap from the end of the thermometer.

    • 2

Warm the tip of the thermometer in your hand so that it isn't cold and won't startle the baby.

    • 3

Lift your infant's arm and place the thermometer right into his armpit, holding it firmly in place.

    • 4

Turn the thermometer on and lower your baby's arm gently down so that the thermometer is completely covered.

    • 5

Wait until the thermometer beeps or flashes for an accurate reading of the baby's temperature.

Tips & Warnings

  • Underarm temperature readings can be up to two degrees less than rectal temperature readings.

  • A fever in a baby under three months of age can be dangerous, so a rectal thermometer is recommended for a more accurate measurement.
