How Can I Unfollow Anybody Who Unfollows Me on Twitter?
On Twitter, following relationships are not mutual by default. If you start following another user, you start receiving her updates in your timeline and grant her the ability to send you a direct message --- but she has to follow you back in order for her to see your tweets in her timeline or for you to be able to send her a direct message. If you prefer to keep your relationships as mutual as possible, you can use a third-party service to unfollow anybody who is not following you.

Visit ManageFlitter at manageflitter.com. Log in with your Twitter account and click "Allow" when Twitter asks if you want to grant ManageFlitter access to your Twitter account. ManageFlitter will then show you a full list of users you are following who are not following you back. Check the box next to each user you want to unfollow. You can sort this list by follow date, number of followers, date of last tweet, alphabetically by username, whether a user has a profile picture and by other criteria. Click "Unfollow" to unfollow all checked accounts.

Tips & Warnings
If you have thousands of following relationships, you may need to click "Whack!" two to three times on Tweeter Karma.
Twitter does not allow third-party tools to provide "bulk unfollow" options or to automatically unfollow accounts as they unfollow you. You must complete all unfollow actions manually.
