How to Make a Tulle Tent thumbnail
You can make a romantic tent from tulle fabric.

A tulle tent can provide a romantic setting for a outdoor meal or a fairy castle for some young sprites. Inexpensive tulle is available in a variety of colors by the yard at fabric stores. By attaching the tulle to a silk wreath, the tent can be hung from an eyehook attached to a deck or pergola overhang, or a tree branch. The tulle tent can also be hung over a bed for an ethereal canopy. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the height of the proposed tulle tent with the tape measure from the silk wreath metal frame position to the floor or ground.

    • 2

Measure the circumference of the silk wreath and double it. Use the circumference and length measurements to determine the tulle fabric yardage, which is available in 44-inch or 60-inch width.

    • 3

Glue the top edges of the tulle fabric to the inside of the silk wreath with the hot glue gun, by dividing the fabric in half and pinching the fabric together every inch to gather it before gluing, working from the fabric edges toward the fabric center.

    • 4

Cut the silk ribbon into three equal pieces. Tie the ribbon ends around the silk wreath, evenly spaced. Gather the loose ribbon ends together in a knot, which will be used to hang the tulle tent.

    • 5

Screw the eye hook in the ceiling or overhang. Tie the ribbon ends to the eye hook.
