Measure the chair's dimensions to cut enough fabric, ribbon and streamers. For baby showers, you need loose swaths of tulle decorated with buttons and bows, while chairs at a bridal shower look stunning with flower garlands strung along the backs. Use flowers and fabric in colors that coordinate with the shower decor.

Cut, pin and stitch the fabric swaths to fit the chairs. Use patches of different fabric patterns for a shabby-chic baby shower theme or combine stripes and damask for a wedding shower. Use straight pins to hold the fabric in place while you add simple basting, whip or front stitches.
