How to Wrap a Muslim Veil
The Muslim headscarf, also known as a hjjab, is a garment that covers the head and neck while the face remains exposed. The prophet Muhammad stated that once a woman reaches puberty, no part of the woman should be exposed except for the face and hands, reports Islam 101, a website dedicated to Islamic teachings. The hijab can come in a variety of colors and patterns and may be tied in a couple different ways.

1
Align the scarf over your head, with the long edge of the scarf centered horizontally over your forehead, just above the eyebrows. Next, on both sides of your forehead, create a firm tuck as you pull the scarf ends downward on each side of your head.
-
2
Pin the scarf under your chin; let each long point on the sides hang loosely. Make sure the folds on the forehead are tight so the hijab frames your face properly.

Next, spin the long ends of the hijab over your shoulders to finish the wrap. You will want to fold the two long ends against each other in a crossing pattern over your shoulders.

Drape the scarf in an uneven fashion over your head, with about 12 inches of scarf hanging on the left side. Make a tuck at your left temple and let the long edge of the scarf cross over your forehead. Next, make a tuck at the right side and let the other end hang down.

Pull the long left side drape of the scarf up under your chin toward the top right side of your head. Make sure the scarf is tight so it doesn't come loose during this step. Continue the left side of the scarf over the top of your head, now making a full circle back to the left temple.

6
Tuck the left side into the scarf just below the right temple. Make sure it is firmly tucked into the scarf and the wrap is complete.
