Using a hoe also saves your back, as you don't have to bend over to ground level in order to get rid of an undesirable plant. Like all truly effective tools, they make the job easier while requiring less effort to achieve the end result. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Grasp the handle with both hands. If you are right handed, grasp the top of the handle with your right hand, palm facing you. Place your left hand, palm facing away from you, on the handle about 18 to 24 inches below the right hand.

    • 2

Place the flat edge of the metal end of the hoe flat on the ground behind a weed you wish to eradicate, as viewed from your perspective.

    • 3

Pull the hoe toward you, keeping the flat metal blade flat on the ground. The blade will decapitate the weeds without disturbing the roots of desirable plants.
