Do it Yourself Glass Cleaner

Making your own glass cleaner will save you money on cleaning supplies.

Glass cleaner is a simple solution that assists you in removing grime from windows and other glass surfaces. A good glass cleaner solution will not only break through the dirt on your glass, but will leave it with a streak free shine. A glass cleaner's main ingredients need to dry quickly, once on the glass, to avoid these streaks. For this reason, rubbing alcohol and ammonia are the best choices in making your own glass cleaner.

Things You'll Need

• Spray bottle
• Cleaning cloths
• 1/2 c. ammonia
• 1/2 c. water
• 1/2 c. rubbing alcohol
• Funnel

Instructions

1. Pour half a cup of ammonia and half a cup of water into a spray bottle, using a funnel.

2. Pour half a cup of rubbing alcohol into the same spray bottle, using a funnel.

3. Screw the spray top onto the bottle, to seal it.

4. Shake the spray bottle lightly, to mix the glass cleaner.

5. Use the spray to clean glass, tile and smooth metal surfaces. Wipe these surfaces with a lint-free cleaning rag.

Tips & Warnings

• Ammonia and rubbing alcohol should only be handled by an adult, as they can be harmful.
