How to Stop My NetZero Internet From Disconnecting Itself
NetZero is an Internet service provider that offers free dial-up Internet. Because of the varying quality of phone lines and consistencies with NetZero, your NetZero connection may disconnect itself when it shouldn't. This can happen for a variety of reasons. The only way to determine the problem is via trial and error. Line noise, disrupting hardware and NetZero settings are at the base of most NetZero connection problems.

1
Connect your computer's modem directly to a wall jack if possible. Using a splitter or another device that transfers the signal can result in disconnections.
-
2
Change the access number. When creating the Netzero account, you select a phone number for connecting. In the Settings menu, you can chose from a list of different numbers that might be faster and more stable.

3
Disable call waiting in the Settings menu. Depending on the quality of your phone line, call waiting may disconnect you instead of suspending the connection as is intended.
-
4
Move the ZeroPort window to reset the timer. The ZeroPort window (the box that is used to connect and disconnect Netzero) must be moved every 20 to 30 minutes to prevent automatic disconnection. Even clicking an ad or using the search bar will suffice.
