How to Decorate a Ladies' Church Retreat with a Princess Theme
When planning a princess-themed ladies' retreat, there are a couple of approaches you might consider. One idea is to use a princess tea party theme, since formal tea parties are often associated with royalty; alternatively, you might choose a plush, girlie and luxurious theme that emphasizes the idea of a princess as a lady of leisure. Either of these approaches would work well for a princess-themed church retreat.

Princess Tea Party Theme
-
1
Make candles for the tables by filling old teacups with wax and a wick, or use old teacups as tea-light candleholders. Place these teacup candles throughout the retreat location.
-
2
Buy or make white lace doilies to place on the arms and backs of the furniture. Doilies appear delicate and Victorian, which goes well with the princess tea theme.
-
-
3
Buy lots of flowers and place bouquets of flowers around the retreat location.
-
4
Collect decorative honey jars, sugar and creamer sets, sugar tongs, tea tins, or old wood tea boxes to use as decorations throughout the retreat location.
-
5
Find or buy a formal tea serving set to have on the main dining table. Formal sets include a serving tray, tea pot, sugar and cream holders, a teaspoon, and teacups with saucers.
-
6
Make favors by placing a couple of tea bags in an old teacup with saucer.
Lady of Leisure Theme

7
Decorate the rooms with large palm fronds. The palm fronds, along with the grapes, will conjure images of age-old princesses being fanned while they relax.
-
8
Place candles of all different shapes and sizes throughout the retreat location. Burn some sweetly scented candles during the retreat. This will help create a warm and relaxing atmosphere.
-
9
Use silver-looking serving trays to hold centerpieces, flowers, candles and so forth. The serving trays will emphasize the feel that the women at the retreat do not have to work or serve themselves.
-
10
Decorate with flowers. Use fresh flowers in all different sizes and colors. If it is an overnight retreat, put fresh flowers in each of the sleeping areas.
-
11
Have the dining table set with formal place settings, which should include a water goblet and decoratively folded cloth napkins.

Tips & Warnings
To avoid spending a large amount of money, borrow props that can be used in the decorations.
Do not go overboard with the decorations. Too much could come off as comical, as opposed to believable.
