How to Put Puffy Paint on a Backpack
Puffy paint, also known as puff paint, is a versatile craft tool that will adhere to almost any surface for a significant amount of time. It is popular among young kids to decorate the exterior of their backpacks with puff paint, blow the design with a hair dryer and watch it bubble up for a three dimensional effect. Applying puffy paint to a backpack is as simple as applying it to paper. Prolonged exposure to water is one of the only things that will affect the quality of your design.

1
Outline your design with a dark pencil. Using a pencil gives you room to make and correct mistakes. You can also draw with a stencil if you want your design to be accurate.
-
2
Apply your puffy paint from the tip of the applicator. The paint will squeeze out in a slow, thin streak to allow you time to control the flow. Alternatively, you can pour the paint out on a pallet and paint it on with a brush.

Blow dry the puffy paint on low for about five minutes, or until the puffy paint is dry to the touch. You will see the paint puff up and become three dimensional when it is done drying.

Tips & Warnings
Puffy paint is washable with water. Taking your backpack out in the rain or other extreme weather conditions could cause your design to peel or run.
