When you're enjoying chocolate fondue with friends or family, scrubbing the pot probably doesn't cross your mind. But if you leave the fondue pot unattended on the heat for too long, the chocolate can burn and stick firmly to the bottom of the pan. While this is annoying, you can loosen the burnt-on mess with a simple trick and some basic cleaning supplies. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Non-abrasive cleaning pad
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of hot water
  • 1/2 tsp. of liquid dish soap

Instructions

    • 1

      Dampen a non-abrasive cleaning pad with vegetable oil.

      Scrub the burnt on chocolate in a circular motion with the damp cleaning pad to loosen the burnt on chocolate.

      Pour approximately 1 cup of hot water and 1/2 tsp. of liquid dish soap into the fondue pot.

      Continue to scrub the fondue pot with the cleaning pad until you remove all of the chocolate.

      Rinse the fondue pot thoroughly with water to remove all of the dish soap.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not use steel wool or abrasive pads or cleaners on your fondue pot. These items could leave behind scratches, especially if your fondue pot has a non-stick coating.
