How to Clean a Non-Stick Iron
Even if you have an iron with a non-stick soleplate, it can accumulate residue from synthetic fabrics or starch either on the soleplate or inside the steam vents. Your iron might then transfer this residue to your garments during the ironing process and stain them. Plug the iron into a power outlet and let it warm up.

Spray prewash solution on one of the terry washcloths.

Run the warm iron on the washcloth, as if you were trying to iron it.

Lightly dampen the second washcloth and use it to manually wipe the soleplate clean.
