The cutting teeth will chip and break off or wear down from filing, at which point you'll need to replace the chain. Replacement chains must match the measurements of the original chain. You can find these measurements on the chain's package. It is best to use the same brand and type of chain as the last one to ensure that all of the measurements match up. Does this Spark an idea?
