How to Upload a Video From iMovie to Google
Once you've finished creating your latest masterpiece with iMovie, it's time to share it with the world. If you have a Google account for your email or RSS feeds, then you are already signed up with Google Video. All you need is one little software application to help you put your video out there. Google Video Uploader can be downloaded for free, and a version exists exclusively for Mac users. In just a few minutes, you can be well on your way to becoming the next Internet video star.

Open the "File" menu within iMovie. Select "Share." Choose "QuickTime" as the file format. This will save your video as a .MOV file, which is compatible with Google Video. Type a name for your video into the provided text field. Select the location on your computer that you would like to save your video to. Click "Save." Depending on the size of your video, saving it into .MOV format could take several minutes.

Visit the "Google Video Upload Instructions" reference link. Scroll down the page until you see the "Click here to install the Mac Uploader" button. Click the button to download the installation file. Open the file once it has completed downloading. Click and drag the "Google Video Uploader" file to your computer's "Applications" folder.

Launch Google Video Uploader. Click the "Login..." button to connect to your Google account. Once you have been connected, you will be returned to the main application window. Click the "Add..." button. Browse your local files for the .MOV file you created in Step 1. Click "Open." The title of your video will appear within the main application window. Check the box to confirm that you have the right to distribute the video and that it does not contain pornographic or obscene content. Click "Upload Now." Your video will now be uploaded to Google Video.
