How to Clean a Board After Cutting Fish
Your cutting board must be cleaned, deodorized and sanitized after slicing a fish. An uncleaned board can retain odor and bacteria that can transfer to the next food product that you prepare on the cutting board. Clean the board with hot, soapy water to remove any fish residue.

Sprinkle a heavy dusting of baking soda over the cutting board and rub in with your fingers. Let the baking soda sit for about five minutes as this will deodorize the board. Again, wash the cutting board with hot, soapy water to remove the baking soda.

Soak a cleaning rag in white vinegar and rub generously over the cutting board. The vinegar will disinfect and deodorize quickly. Let the cutting board air dry.
