How to Do Praise & Worship Dance in the Church

Praise and worship dance, also known as Liturgical dance, is a form of performance that's becoming highly popular in the religious community. Praise and worship dance is an unconventional worship practice that uses different aspects of dance to uplift and inspire the church congregation. The dances usually use movement and music to interpret biblical passages and ideals.

Instructions

1. Research your church bylaws. While praise and worship dance is growing in popularity, some churches have bylaws or rules that restrict that type of worship. Most often, certain church performances must be approved by a deacon or worship board before the performance is scheduled.

2. Reach out to your congregation. Call on members to join a praise and worship team to perform at events or services at your church. Set up praise and worship practice and pick song selections.

3. Get song selections approved. Find an instructor, get the church to assign one or get songs approved by the deacon or worship board.

4. Practice. Get the praise and worship team together and develop a routine. Pull up videos of praise and worship or liturgical dance groups to get ideas, study the movements and find tips on praise dances. Flesh out your routine and stick with a performance. Stick to your practice dates and coordinate a performance.
