How to Make a Hashtag on Twitter
Hashtags make your tweets searchable on Twitter, and can even become trending topics in the running list on the right side of the Twitter panel. If you want to increase visibility to your tweets and possibly add followers to your Twitter profile, add relevant hashtags to your tweets before you submit them.

Navigate to the Twitter homepage. Click the "Sign In" link in the top right corner. Enter your Twitter account information and click "Sign In."

Click the "What's Happening" text input field. Enter your tweet, keeping it under 140 characters. Type "#" before the word you want to make a hashtag. For example, the Twitter trend of "Follow Friday" includes hashtag "#FF".

Click "Tweet" to send your tweet, including the hashtag.
