How To Burn CD-R on DVD Burners
DVD burners are hardware devices that allow you to record information to CD and DVD disks. CD-R disks are a type of writable CD that can only be written once, and it is compatible with the widest variety of formats. You'll be able to burn a CD-R using your DVD burner with the built-in Windows DVD burner tool.

Insert your CD-R disk into the optical drive of your DVD burner.

Wait as the "AutoRun" dialog appears and click "Burn files to disk using Windows Explorer." If it does not appear, open the disk from the "Computer" option on the "Start" menu and double-click the disk.

Enter a name for your disk and choose if you would like it to be burned "Like a USB Flash Drive" for exclusive use in computers or "With a CD/DVD Player" to enable additional compatibility.

Drag the files you would like to burn into the Disk Burner window that appears.

Click "Burn to Disk" on the toolbar to begin the burning process.
