  • Wheelbarow
  • Sand
  • Portland cement
  • Gravel
  • Water

      Set up a wheelbarrow next to the site where you need to use the concrete, and put in Portland cement, sand and gravel. For every one part Portland cement, use two parts sand and three parts gravel.

      Stir the cement, sand and gravel with a shovel.

      Slowly add water to the mixture, pulling the shovel back and forth and, eventually, round and round to mix the materials. Add the water rather slowly, and stop adding water once the concrete has the consistency of pancake batter.
