How Add a Photo to a Greeting Card Tutorial

Personalize greeting cards by adding photos.

Adding photos is a great way to personalize your greeting cards. You may wish include family photos or photos from a recent vacation. Either way, you can do all of this from your computer without having to pay a lot of money at photo labs. There are thousands of software programs available that you can use to do this task. However, Microsoft has an in-house product called "Microsoft Publisher" that comes with the Office Suite and can create amazing personalized greeting cards.

Things You'll Need

• Greeting card paper
• Color printer

Instructions

1. Click the Start menu and point to "All Programs." Click "Microsoft Office" and choose "Microsoft Office Publisher."

2. Click "Publications for Print" in the "New Publication" task pane to the left. Click "Greeting Cards" underneath it.

3. Choose a theme for your greeting card. Preview the templates in the right pane. Double-click to load your preferred template.

4. Click the "Insert" tab. Point to "Picture" and choose "From File..." Browse to navigate to the photo/image you wish to add to the greeting card. Single-click the photo and click "Insert." You will see the chosen image on the front of the greeting card.

5. Click the "2" and/or "3" tab at the bottom of the template to customize your message inside the card. Single-click on the box and type your message.

6. Click the "4" tab at the bottom of the template to add anything you wish to include on the back side of the card.

7. Click "File" and choose "Save." Type a name for the file, choose a destination and click "Save." Your greeting card will be saved in .pub format.

8. Connect your color printer to one of the open USB ports on your computer.

9. Load greeting card stock paper inside the printer. You can purchase these papers from any office supply store.

10. Navigate back to Publisher. Click "File" and choose "Print..." Select the printer that you have connected to your computer. Click "Print" to get the finished product.

• You may also use other software to create personalized greeting cards. Greeting Card Studio, Hallmark Card Studio and PrintMaster are some of the many available for purchase.
