How to Keep Table Covers on
Table covers, or tablecloths, can slide effortlessly on a slick tabletop if not anchored down. Vinyl-covered table cloths, normally used outdoors, attach and stay in place better than cloth table covers. Not as secure, cloth table covers may result in accidental calamities as food and drink hurtle to the floor after a child pulls on the slippery fabric. Masking Tape

Place the table cover on the table and position it exactly the way you want it.

Tear off 2 to 3-inch pieces of masking tape. Get under the table and tape the edges of the table cover to the bottom of the table.

Press the tape firmly to the table bottom so it does not peel off. Use as many pieces of tape as necessary to secure the tablecloth. Smooth the table cover to remove any wrinkles.
Double-Sided Tape

Lay the tablecloth on the table with the underside facing up. Cut six to eight 3-inch strips of double-sided tape with a pair of scissors.

Place the tape strips evenly along the edges of the tablecloth. Use additional tape for larger tables. Flip the tablecloth over and position it.

Pull up the tablecloth at each piece of tape and remove the paper backing. Press the tape onto the bottom of the table. Repeat the process for the remaining tape pieces.
Table Pad

Wipe the table clean with a dust rag.

Position the table pad on the table. If you cannot find the exact size pad for your table, cut the extra off with scissors. Place the pad with the felt backing against the table top and the vinyl siding facing up.

Lay the table cover over the table pad. Position the tablecloth so it hangs evenly on each side. Run your hands over the top of the tablecloth to secure it to the vinyl pad.
