Users can change the font, color, background image and overall design of the layout to suit the theme and content of the blog. To customize the width of Blogger posts, log in to the account and change the settings under the Design options.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your Web browser and navigate to the Blogger home page at blogger.com.

    • 2

Enter your username and password into the login boxes and click the "Sign In" button. This opens the Blogger dashboard that contains a list of all the blogs you've created with Blogger.

    • 3

Locate the blog that you wish to edit from the list under the "Manage Blogs" heading.

    • 4

Click the "Design" link under the blog title.

    • 5

Select "Template Design" from the top menu.

    • 6

Click "Adjust Widths" from the left-hand side menu. This opens the "Adjust Widths" setting page that contains sliders for each element of the blog design. This includes the width for the entire blog and the right and left side bar. The blog posts sit between the side bars so the width of the side bars determines the width of the blog posts. Alter the side bars to change the width of the blog post area.

    • 7

Move the slider for each side bar until you achieve the desired width for the blog post area in between each side bar. If necessary, change the width of the entire blog by moving this slider. Experiment until you're happy with the layout.

    • 8

Click "Apply to Blog" to save the changes.

Tips & Warnings

  • Click the "Reset Widths to Template Default" link in the Adjust Widths page if you're unhappy with the new layout and wish to return to the default settings.
