Instructions

    • 1

Place the acrylic tub into the tub alcove space with the help of a friend.

    • 2

Install a new drain shoe. Apply a ring of clear silicone caulk under the rim of the drain shoe. Assemble the drain shoe in place with a wrench.

    • 3

Lay a level on the side of the tub and adjust the tub with wooden shims until it is level.

    • 4

Place screws through the nailing flange of the acrylic tub and screw them into the wall studs with a screwdriver.

    • 5

Install a tub surround above the acrylic tub. There are several different kinds of tub surrounds, so it is best to follow the manufacturer's directions of the surround during installation.

    • 6

Install the fixtures for the acrylic tub. Caulk around each of the installed fixtures with a small bead of caulk.

    • 7

Hook the drain line and overflow pipe to the P-trap and the tub with a wrench. Fill the tub with a small amount of water to test for leaks. Fix leaks as necessary.
