How to Put Friends on Limited Profile on Facebook

Facebook's privacy settings let you control which of your friends can see specific parts of your profile by creating a special version of your profile called a limited profile. You can use this feature to keep more personal information from friends you don't know very well or from business contacts. Indicate which friends should see your limited profile by adding them to a special friend list.

Instructions

1. Log into your Facebook account.

2. Click "Friends" in the menu on the left.

3. Click the "Edit Friends" button near the top right of the screen.

4. Click the "Create a List" button.

5. Type "Limited Profile" in the name box.

6. Click on each friend you want to see your limited profile in lieu of your full profile. Click someone's photo a second time to de-select them if you click by mistake.

7. Click "Create List."

8. Click "Account" in the top right corner. Choose "Privacy Settings."

9. Click "Customize Settings."

10. Choose "Customize" in the drop-down box next to any profile field that you want to hide from people on your Limited Profile list.

11. Start typing "Limited Profile" in the "Hide from these people" box. Select your Limited Profile list when it appears in the list.

12. Click "Save Setting." The people on your Limited Profile list will now see a limited version of your profile, hiding the fields that you indicated.

Tips & Warnings

• You can name the "Limited Profile" list anything you like.

• You can block multiple lists from seeing part of your profile. Just enter the second list name after the first.

• Show your full profile to a friend again by removing her from the Limited Profile list.
