Do it Yourself Photo Greeting Cards
Making a photo greeting card allows you to send out a personalized card to friends and family. The card takes only a few minutes to make if the image is already on the computer. The card can have pictures of a newborn baby to announce the birth, photos of a happy couple to announce an engagement, family photos for a holiday greeting or silly pictures for a birthday card. Any image is appropriate depending on the type of greeting and personal preferences.

1
Open the photo in a photo editing software program. Photo editing software allows changes to be made the to image, such as removing red eye or adjusting the size. For a photo greeting card, size adjustments might or might not be necessary.
-
2
Adjust the print size if needed. For example, if the image is an eight by 10 inch size, it is too large for the typical greeting card and needs to be be made smaller, such as five by six or seven inches. Go to the 'print preview options' and change the numbers in the print size to alter the printing image size. You can also go to the 'image' option and select 'image size' and input the new size.

Make any other preferred changes. For example, crop out extra background in the photo or add some text to the picture. If adding text, there are usually options which require making a text box on the image and then typing in the words such as "happy birthday."
-
4
Print the image onto preferred paper. Card stock or a thicker paper is ideal for greeting cards, but not necessary. Fold the card in half and trim off any unwanted paper.
-
5
Write the greeting on the inside of the card.
