Invitations can be designed at home by pasting printed text onto a charming card.

An invitation sets the tone for an event such as a party or a birthday, as it is the first thing guests will see. You can make your own invitations at home, which will save money when compared to purchasing a pre-made set at a professional invitation store. You can achieve a professional look by printing out the text of the invite and pasting it onto a pretty stationery card.

Instructions

    • 1

Type the text for your invitations into a Word document on your computer. Include details about the event such as the date, time and location. Proofread the text and save it to your computer.

    • 2

Print out as many copies of the text as you need for the number of guests to which you are sending invitations. Cut out the text from each paper, cutting away excess blank paper so you have a square with the wording on it.

    • 3

Purchase a set of charming stationery from a craft or card store. Make sure you have enough stationery for the number of guests you're inviting.

    • 4

Apply glue to the back of the cut out papers and press firmly onto the inside of each stationery card. Keep the cards open until the glue dries to keep them from sticking together.
