Once you follow a person, all of their updates show up in your timeline.

Twitter is used by individuals and corporations alike, all of whom want to keep you informed of their current thoughts and activities. If you want to stay in the loop about people you personally know, search your email list for friends that have a Twitter account. While you cannot manually enter an email address in a search, if you have a person's email saved in the address book you created with an email provider, it is possible to find him.

Instructions

      Click on the "Who to Follow" link on the Twitter homepage toolbar, located horizontally across the top of the page.

      Click on the "Find Friends" tab.

      Click the the name of your email service. As of early 2011, Twitter could search contacts from Gmail, Hotmail, AOL or Yahoo.

      Enter the username and password for your email account, when prompted. Select "Connect."

    • 5

      Click on the "Follow" icon next to the name of each contact you want to follow. Alternatively, click "Follow All" to select all contacts at once.
