Navigate on the CUTCO website to Sharpening Services.
-
2
Enter your name, address and phone number and answer a short set of questions about the service you need.
-
-
3
Enter the item number for the scissors you have. If no number can be found on the blade, you can provide a simple description of the scissors.
-
4
Submit your information and print a service request form, which includes your printed address and a bar code to be scanned at the factory.
-
5
Include the service request form when packaging your item as directed below.
Packing and Shipping
-
6
Cover the scissors with their original protective sheaths and tape the cardboard closed for added security. If you don't have the original packaging, locate a large scrap of cardboard such as a storage box, shoebox or cereal box.
-
7
Wrap the cardboard around the closed shears and tightly wind with packing tape or duct tape to secure the cardboard.
-
8
Leave the handles of the scissors uncovered or secure them with a rubber band. CUTCO strongly advises that you do not tape the handles together.
-
9
Package the wrapped scissors in a cardboard box with plenty of newspaper, foam peanuts or other packing materials so that the scissors do not move loosely inside the box. CUTCO advises against using a padded envelope.
-
10
Include a note with your name, return shipping address, email address and phone number. Explain on the note that the shears need sharpening and any other service they might need such as handle replacement.
-
11
Provide a credit card number and expiration date and sign your name to the paper, or include a check or money order. The sharpening is free, but CUTCO charges a shipping and handling fee of $6 for one to three items or $9 for four or more items.
-
12
Mail the package and insure it for the retail price of a current CUTCO scissor, rather than what you paid for the item in the past.

Tips & Warnings
Package your scissors carefully and securely, but do not use an excessive amount of tape. This can leave residue on the handles and blades that is difficult to clean.
