How to Delete the Recycle Bin Icon on Windows 2000
The Recycle Bin is a Windows location where deleted are stored until the allotted Recycle Bin space is depleted or the bin is cleared by a user. If you do not use the Recycle Bin or have a cluttered desktop, you may want to get rid of the Recycle Bin icon. You can accomplish this task by modifying your desktop's configuration.

Click "Start" then click "Run."

Type "gpedit.msc" in the Run text box, then press "Enter" on your keyboard.

Look to the left pane of the Group Policy Editor window that appears on your screen. Press the "+" symbol next to "User Configuration," then "Administrative Templates." Click "Desktop."

Double-click "Remove Recycle Bin icon from desktop" and select the "Enabled" option. Click "OK" to save your changes.
