Google Buzz launched in February 2010.

The Google Buzz social network operates within the Gmail interface and through mobile phones. You can post status updates and links for your friends to read, and read and comment on your friends' posts. If you're active on multiple social networks, you can connect Buzz with services such as Twitter and Google Reader to automatically cross-post the messages you send on those networks to your Buzz network.

Instructions

    • 1

Click "Try Google Buzz in Gmail" on the Google Buzz website (google.com/buzz) if you do not already use Buzz.

    • 2

Sign in to your Gmail account. Google Buzz integrates within your existing Gmail interface.

    • 3

Click "Buzz" in the left menu.

    • 4

Click "Connected Sites" next to your profile image. If you already connect Buzz to another service, this link may appear as "# Connected Sites," with "#" reflecting the number of current connections.

    • 5

      Click "Add" next to Twitter.

    • 6

Type your Twitter username in the box. Click "Connect."

    • 7

Click "Save." Your Buzz and Twitter accounts are now linked.

Tips & Warnings

  • Connecting Buzz and Twitter means that all of your public Twitter posts will appear on Buzz. However, your Buzz updates will not appear on Twitter.
