How to Upload to GoDaddy With FTP
When you start a website with GoDaddy's hosting service, the first thing you need to do is put something on it. You can get started through your GoDaddy control panel with some common, free software, such as WordPress and Joomla. However, you might want to use other applications on your site or you might want to add something extra, like a theme for WordPress. You can put other things on your site by using FTP.

Start your FTP client. If you do not have one, many free programs are available.

Type your website's domain name as the FTP host or the address to go to.

Type in your GoDaddy username and password in the appropriate fields in your FTP client.

Check to make sure your FTP client is using port 21 or the standard port.

Press "Connect" if your FTP client requires it. You can now drag and drop the files on your computer to locations on your website on the GoDaddy servers.
