How to Do a Hard Reset for the I760

You can perform a hard reset on your Samsung i760 phone to remove data and settings.

Protecting your private information from unauthorized access is necessary when selling your Samsung i760 cellphone and can be easily accomplished by performing a hard reset. The hard reset feature restores the phone to its original factory settings and erases all files and data previously stored on it. Once the i760 is restored, it is safe to sell the phone.

Instructions

Manually Reset

1. Slide the keyboard from underneath the phone and hold the phone horizontally to access the Reset and Action keys.

2. Push the Reset button located on the left side of the keyboard and simultaneously push the Action key with your stylus. The Action key is the button in the middle of the directional pad on the phone's faceplate.

3. Hold both keys for three seconds, then release the Reset button. Release the Action key and tap the phone's screen with your stylus to begin the device restore process.

4. Tap the screen's crosshairs with the stylus to re-calibrate the phone.

Reset Through Phone's Settings

1. Tap the "Start" button on the phone's screen using the stylus, then tap "Settings."

2. Tap "Phone" and "Security" from the sub-menu.

3. Tap "Clear All Data" and enter the password initially created for the phone to proceed with the restoration process.

4. Tap "OK" and "Yes" to confirm the restore. The phone will automatically erase all information and restore its original settings.
