How to Fertilize a Date Tree
The date tree (Phoenix Dactylifera) is best grown in U.S. Department of Agriculture zones 9 through 11. This is a large tree that grows up to 120 feet. Even more impressive is its massive root system: extending over 30 feet laterally and 10 to over 20 feet deep. Fertilizer applications are important aspects of the date tree's care -- as they not only improve the tree's growth, but the yield as well. Use fertilizers labeled specifically for use on palms, because these contain the micronutrients the date tree needs to thrive. Does this Spark an idea?
