To make canned string beans with garlic and onions, cook one cup of diced onion and one teaspoon of chopped garlic in a nonstick pan for about two minutes, or until the onions and garlic are soft, then mix in a 15-ounce can of string beans and continue to cook for one more minute. For additional flavor, sauté the garlic and onions in 2 teaspoons of olive oil and add dried oregano.

Mix bell peppers and tomatoes with canned string beans. Add ½ cup of green bell pepper and ½ cup of red bell pepper to one 15-ounce can of string beans, along with two tablespoons of olive oil and four tablespoons of red wine vinegar. Stir all of these ingredients together well and chill for at least two hours. For more flavor add 1 chopped raw tomato.

These ingredients, and a little milk, make a delicious green bean casserole. Simply mix together two 15-ounce cans of string beans, one can of the condensed version of cream of mushroom soup and ¼-cup of whole milk and bake in a casserole dish in a 350 F oven for approximately 23 minutes.
