How to Find Friends on Battlefield 2

Developer Digital Illusions CE released Battlefield 2 for the PC in 2005. The game is a first-person shooter where players use modern weapons to fight each other on a battlefield as if in a real war. Battlefield 2 is a popular online game with countless heavily populated servers, making communication difficult if you want to find a friend online. However, free software offers a way to join a friend's game.

Instructions

1. Download Xfire (see Resources). Follow the installation instructions. Once the program installs, Xfire searches for games on your computer automatically and then loads a website where you register as a new user. Fill in the required information on this page, such as username, e-mail and desired password.

2. Enter the email addresses of the friends you want to invite to join Xfire, and then click "Send Invitations."

3. When you know your friend is playing and you want to join the game, load Xfire and click on the "Join Game" icon at the bottom of the Xfire window.

4. Click on the Battlefield 2 server where your friend is. Battlefield 2 opens and sends you directly to the game where your friend is playing.
