Thanks to the blockbuster "Twilight" franchise and television shows such as "True Blood," a vampire-like pallor is more popular than ever. Whether you're trying to achieve the dramatic look for a costume party or Halloween bash, or you're a dedicated follower of Goth fashion, the look of pale skin is easily achieved with a little foundation and talcum powder.   • Liquid foundation
  • Sponge applicator
  • Translucent powder
  • Kabuki brush
  • Tissue

Instructions

    • 1

      Select a liquid foundation that is two or three shades lighter than your natural skin color.

    • 2

      Apply the foundation with a sponge applicator, blending it evenly into the skin. Cover both the face and neck areas.

    • 3

      Mix a small amount of talcum powder with an equal amount of translucent powder, and dust the product over your foundation with a Kabuki brush.

    • 4

      Allow the powder to set and brush off any excess particles with a tissue.

Tips & Warnings

  • For the complete vampire look, finish with dark eye shadow, black liner and ruby-red lipstick.

  • Breathing in or swallowing talcum powder is dangerous and can poison the lungs. If you experience any breathing difficulty or chest pain, immediately contact the National Poison Control Center at 800-222-1222.

  • Although the U.S. Food and Drug Administration considers talc generally safe, the Cancer Prevention Coalition claims there is a link between talc and cancer, especially ovarian cancer.
