If you are interested in making money from websites through affiliate marketing, you need to target keywords that bring in a good amount of traffic that converts to sales on your site. Unfortunately, there is no way to know with 100 percent certainty if a keyword will convert until you try it. The best you can do is find good keywords that people are searching for in search engines, which point to a high likelihood of conversions. Wealthy Affiliate Blog recommends choosing keywords that have less than 5,000 monthly searches for the best results due to less competition.

Launch a web browser on your computer, and go to the Google Insights for Search website.

Enter a keyword you are interested in using in the search field. Click "search" to view the results. You do not have to enter a specific keyword. For instance, if you want to know about fuzzy slippers, you can just enter "slippers" to see what comes up. Other keyword finding sites are available as well, such as Word Tracker and the Google Keyword Tool.

View the results page to identify high traffic keywords to target. If you scroll down to the "Search Terms" part of the results, you can view the top related search terms as well as the top rising search terms. You can click on any of those keywords to get more information on that keyword or keyword phrase.
