1
Pour 4 oz. of drinking water into a glass. For adults ages 12 and over, dissolve 1 teaspoon of the Epsom salt into the water, mixing it thoroughly. For children ages six to 12, use 1/2 teaspoon in the water. Consult a doctor if you are unsure of the correct dosage based on the age of the child.
-
2
Add a small amount of lemon juice to the mixture. Lemon juice does not have any effect on the mixture, other than adding a flavor for better taste. Stir the mixture until it's completely liquefied.
-
-
3
Drink the entire mixture in one sitting. Remain near a restroom after drinking because a bowel movement should occur between 30 minutes and six hours after drinking the mixture.
-
4
Prepare another glass of the mixture if you do not have a bowel movement within four hours of drinking the first glass. Do not drink more than two glasses per day.
-
5
Consult your physician if you do not have a bowel movement after a second dosage. You may need to be seen by the physician to research your issues further.
